One of the main goals of the Vice Chancellor for Research is to encourage colleagues and create a suitable environment for the development of applied research projects in the faculty. The applied research project is concluded in the form of a research contract between the technical campus (university) and the private or public sector outside the university (industry).

The typical implementation process of an applied research contract is as follows:

A) Definition of applied research project

      The definition of the project and its marketing is done in one of the following ways:

  • The Office of Industrial Relations of the University, Campus and / or Faculty in the form of memorandums of cooperation with the Department of Industry, or joint scientific and technical meetings, a list of applied research projects prepared by the Industrial Unit through the Vice Chancellor for Research to staff members Provides scientific information. Depending on their expertise, experience and interest, faculty members select a relevant research topic and complete project definition forms. At present, the campus research vice chancellor has divided research topics into thematic categories, each of which has a research interface. Dear faculty members, with the relevant interface, you can raise and follow up all your ambiguities or needs to define the project or communicate with the employer.
  • One of the research institutes or centers in the university, campus or faculty is a bridge between faculty and industry and defines an applied research project with a specific faculty member or with public announcements such as internship projects (projects with relatively small amounts that In the short term, it is concluded between a professor and several students with the industry and solves one of the current and relatively minor problems of the industry.
  •  The faculty member, based on his / her personal connections outside the university, defines an applied research project with the employer. The output of this stage is one or more definitions of the project approved by the industry, which may be accompanied by issues such as signing a memorandum or a scientific lecture.

B) Applying an applied research contract:

  • Whether the project is defined by a faculty member or a research institute / center, a contract is concluded with the campus research deputy or research institute and signed by the relevant department. If the amount of the contract is more than one amount, the contract will be concluded with the university and will be signed by the president of the university. Which part of the university the contract is concluded with will affect the number of superiors. In general, 12.5% ​​of the total contract amount is for the university, of which 5% goes to the university, 2.5% to the campus and 5% to the faculty.
  • To sign a contract, the text of the contract is first prepared by the employer or a member of the faculty. The text of the contract for administrative follow-up is provided to the person in charge of applied research (internal +9861114449).
  • The text of the contract is sent to the employer and is approved and corrected by the employer's legal unit.
  • The text, altered or prepared by the employer, is referred to the university and reviewed and approved by the Department of Applied Research. At this stage, the text of the contract may be exchanged several times between the university and the employer until it is finalized.
  • The text of the contract is usually duplicated in the employer's letterhead in two to five copies and sent to the university for signature.
  • An executive agreement is signed between the executive faculty member and the relevant department at the university before the contract is signed by the dean of the university, campus, faculty or institution. In this memorandum, if more than one faculty member participates in the work, the percentage of participation is determined and the method of spending (personnel, consumption, capital) is specified, which will be the basis for settling the faculty member's account with the university accounting. In this memorandum, all contract obligations are transferred by the university to the faculty member and the obligations of the parties are mentioned. Also, the amount of overheads, deductions and payment methods are mentioned.
  • At this stage, all pages of the main contract with the employer in all copies will be signed by the faculty member. The signed contract is then sent to the relevant unit at the university for signing and is signed. The contract is finally sent to the employer for signing.
    If the employer needs a bank guarantee, the university can prepare and sign a guarantee letter instead of a bank guarantee and promise the employer to compensate for possible losses. Usually 10% of the contract amount is the amount of the guarantee, which must be signed by the president of the university if it exceeds one limit.
  • After signing the contract, the employer sends the original contract to the university and a copy is sent to the faculty member. Also in the research system, a record of the research contract is opened in the name of the faculty member and the contract is executed.
